Our Story

In 2014, The Security Bureau was formed as a specialist penetration testing business by our founder and CEO, Marios Kyriacou. As our client base grew, we started to see a pattern emerging when it came to scoping external infrastructure penetration tests. While establishing how many IPs and domains were in scope, it became clear that many organizations were unsure of exactly which assets were internet-facing. It was this fundamental question that Informer was designed to answer.

In 2018, the first version of the Informer platform was launched to provide full visibility of externally facing environments. As we began to take the platform to market, it quickly became apparent that there was huge potential to enrich the functionality to provide faster and more in-depth vulnerability data alongside mapping external-facing inventory.

Over the years we have adopted an ambitious product development roadmap which resulted in version 2 being launched in 2020, with a raft of new capabilities. The platform was built from the ground-up for speed and scalability, a key reason being to facilitate our manual penetration testing services being included in early 2021.

By combining continuous asset discovery, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing in one platform, we are bringing together the power of machine learning and expert penetration testing in a single SaaS solution.
